Omschrijving

A large Kendi of dark grey earthenware, supposed to have been made in Indonesia. Produced on a wheel with wide shoulders, the sides with short spout tapering towards the foot, the neck with ornamental grooves and flaring mouth. An iron-brown wash or glaze wash or glaze has eroded to leave traces mainly on neck and shoulders.
